WASHINGTON (SBG) - A new Jamie Foxx comedy show is making its way to Netflix.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has officially given the green light on "Dad Stop Embarrassing Me," a father-daughter comedy starring and executive produced by Oscar winner and Grammy award-winning musician, Jamie Foxx. The series is inspired by his relationship with his daughter, Corinne Foxx, who will also produce the show alongside Alex Avant.
Kyla-Drew, playing the role of Foxx’s daughter, will also star in the show alongside comedic legend David Alan Grier, Porscha Coleman and Jonathan Kite.
"Dad Stop Embarrassing Me" will be Foxx's first scripted TV role since "The Jamie Foxx Show," whose season finale aired back in 2001. Bentley Kyle Evans, who worked on Foxx's self-titled sitcom in the 1990s, will serve as showrunner.
The announcement comes after the successful Netflix feature "Project Power," which also starred Jamie Foxx. No word yet on when the new series will premiere.
